Cabin and Engine Air Filters

Air filters for your vehicle provide a vital role in improving both air quality in the case of a cabin filter and in protecting valuable engine components. If you do a lot of driving, particularly through construction or heavily dusty environments, it’s recommended to check both filters on a regular basis.

The cabin filter is typically found behind the glove box. It catches contaminants, such as pollen and dust before they enter the ventilation system. Your cabin filter should be changed between 12,000 and 15,000 miles. The engine air filter is recognizable as its own compartment that sits atop the engine. The engine’s air filter preserves the mechanism from excess dust that can have a harmful effect on the metal. It’s recommended to change the engine filter between 20,000 and 30,000 miles.
